Who we are
The GYM BULLY app and this website are run by Blank Pages Technologies LLC, registered at 1960 Satellite Blvd NW Ste 1100, Duluth, GA 30097. You can reach us at lester@blankpages.app.
This policy covers the GYM BULLY mobile app and gymbully.app. It says what we collect, why we have it, who else sees it, and how you get rid of it.
What we collect
Your account:
- Your email address and your password. The password is stored as a one way hash, so nobody here can read it.
- Your name, if you enter one.
What you tell the app about your body and your goals:
- Height, weight, age, sex, activity level and how experienced you are.
- Your goal, the physique you are aiming for, the body areas you want to focus on, how many days a week you want to train and the timeframe you gave yourself.
- Your unit preference and your water and drink goals.
What you log:
- Workouts, including the exercises, sets, reps and weights, plus your templates and planned sessions.
- Food entries with the name and the calories and macros, meals you save, and barcodes you scan.
- Water, alcoholic drinks and other activity such as runs or walks.
Your coach:
- The messages between you and the AI coach.
- Coach memories. These are short notes the coach keeps so it does not ask you the same thing twice, for example an injury you mentioned or equipment you do not have. You can see them in the app and tell the coach to stop using one. That hides it from the coach straight away; the note itself is deleted along with your account.
Other things, only when they apply to you:
- Friend connections, and the link between you and a trainer if you use the trainer feature.
- If you link with a trainer, that trainer can see your name, how well you are keeping up with the work they set, and every workout they assigned you. For each one they see whether and when you completed it, any note you attached, and the sets, reps and weights you logged against it. That is how they coach you: they compare what you did to what they asked for. They do not see training you did on your own, only the work they assigned. You can end the link at any time by leaving the trainer in the app, and the trainer can end it from their side too. Ending it stops their access to anything new. Work you already finished stays in their records, because they saw it at the time.
- If you add a friend, that friend can see your name, the email address on your account, and whether you trained on a given day. They do not see your logs, your body numbers or your coach messages.
- Location, only if you set up a gym reminder tied to a place. We store the gym location you picked and a record of when you arrived and left. If you never set one up, we store no location.
- A push notification token, so we can send you reminders. You can turn notifications off on your phone.
- Bug reports you send from inside the app, including your message, your app version, your device model and operating system, and a screenshot if you attach one.
Billing:
- Your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, your plan status and when the current period ends.
- We never see or store your card number. Stripe handles the card.
Your progress photos stay on your phone
Progress photos are stored in the app on your device. They are never uploaded to us, and our servers have never held a copy. Because they are not part of your account, deleting your account does not delete them. They go when you delete the app. If you want to keep any of them, save them to your camera roll first.
A meal photo works differently. When you photograph food to log it, the photo is sent to OpenAI to read the calories and macros, and the photo is kept on your phone with the entry. We do not store the meal photo on our servers.
Why we have it
- To run your account and keep you signed in.
- To calculate your calorie and macro targets from the numbers you entered, and to show your training and nutrition history.
- To let the AI coach answer with your actual context instead of generic advice.
- To take payment and manage your subscription.
- To send the emails the app needs to work, such as a password reset.
- To send the reminders you asked for.
- To find and fix crashes and the bugs you report.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers, and we do not run advertising trackers in the app.
Who else handles your data
These companies process data on our behalf so the app can work. Each one only gets what its job needs.
- OpenAI. Your coach messages and the voice clips you record for the coach, so it can reply and turn your voice into text.
- Anthropic. Meal photos you ask the app to read, so it can estimate what is on the plate. Also the details the coach needs to write you a line after a workout: your first name, the lift, the weight and reps, how late you are, and a friend's name when the message is about them.
- Google Analytics. Visits to the gymbully.app website, so we can see which pages people read. This one is the website only, never the app, and it sets a cookie in your browser. Your IP address is shortened before Google sees it. Nothing you do inside the app goes to Google.
- Stripe. Payment and subscriptions. Stripe holds your card details, not us.
- Resend. The emails the app sends you, such as a password reset link.
- Sentry. Crash reports. We turned off the setting that would send personal details, so a crash report carries the technical error and your user id, not your food diary or your coach messages.
- Expo. Delivery of push notifications to your phone.
- Open Food Facts. When you scan a barcode we send the barcode number to look up the product. Nothing about you goes with it.
- Render and Supabase. Our servers and our database. This is where your account data lives.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your records are removed from our database at that moment.
Two things outlive the account, and we would rather say so than let you find out later:
- Billing records stay with Stripe. Deleting your account cancels any subscription so no more money moves, but your Stripe customer record and your invoices remain, because receipts and tax records have to be kept. Those records include the email address you paid with.
- Bug reports you sent stay with us, because a report is still useful after the person who sent it has gone. When you delete your account we strip your email address out of the report and delete any screenshot you attached, so what is left is your description of the problem and nothing that names you.
If a copy of the database is ever taken for safekeeping, a record you deleted can sit in that copy until it is replaced. We do not keep a separate archive of deleted accounts.
Deleting your account
Open the app, go to Profile, then Delete account. It happens in the app. You do not have to email anyone and you do not have to wait for us.
Deleting removes your account and everything tied to it: your profile, your workouts, your food and water and drink logs, your coach messages and coach memories, your templates and planned sessions, your saved meals and your friend connections. Any subscription is cancelled first, so you are not left paying for an account that no longer exists. The two exceptions above still apply.
Your choices
- You can edit or clear most of what you entered directly in the app.
- You can stop the coach using an individual memory. That hides it from the coach; the note is deleted along with your account.
- You can turn off notifications on your phone.
- You can delete your whole account in the app at any time.
- For anything else, email lester@blankpages.app and we will answer.
Children
GYM BULLY is not built for children. Do not create an account if you are under 13. If you believe a child has an account, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or who we share it with, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Keep using the app and that means the updated policy applies.
